Crime occurs every day. The very fact that there is someone watching for crime and assisting law enforcement is a great way to discourage situations that can cause trouble for students and faculty. Although the typical student is focused on creating a brighter future for themselves, there are occasional mischief makers, and sadly, worse. With increasing frequency, our nations colleges fall victim to acts of violence that are detestable, and while a security presence might not completely eradicate such a threat, it does act as a massive deterrence, and a well trained security force will react in such a way as to minimize the damage should such a catastrophe occur.
